Born and raised in the rolling horse country of Virginia, Christina Rowley was in the saddle by the age of three. Her foundation was built through a decade of rigorous formal Hunter/Jumper training under ARIA-certified instructors Sue Knox and Monique Bernardo. This early mentorship instilled a lifelong dedication to precision, horse safety, and the development of the 'educated seat'—the fundamental philosophy that continues to guide every horse she gentles today.

Driven by a deep curiosity for equine wellness, Christina expanded her expertise into the specialized fields of Equine Osteopathy and functional biomechanics. This scientific lens transformed her approach, allowing her to look beyond behavioral issues and address the root physical causes of resistance. It was this unique combination of classical discipline and anatomical understanding that led her to work with the most challenging cases—from dangerous bolters to Mustangs labeled as 'lost causes' by the traditional industry.

In her pursuit to create a sanctuary where science meets the classical art of horsemanship, Christina relocated to Kuna, Idaho, to found Hilltop Select Equine. Here, she fuses her East Coast heritage with the rugged spirit of the West, rehabilitating horses with a warm professionalism that prioritizes the animal's mental and physical longevity.

Christina's journey from the show rings of Virginia to the high deserts of Idaho is reflected in every horse that leaves her care. When you choose Hilltop Select Equine, you aren't just getting a trained animal; you are gaining a partner that has been thoughtfully prepared for safety, refinement, and a lifetime of reliable performance.

The Triple Pillar Standard

Anatomical Correctness & Biomechanics

Science-Based Equine Psychology

The Classical Art of the Masters

We prioritize the physical longevity of the horse by ensuring every movement is rooted in sound biomechanics. By addressing structural balance and postural alignment, we develop athletes that move with ease and carry themselves with pride, preventing injuries and fostering long-term performance.

Our approach is grounded in the science of how horses learn. By understanding equine behavioral patterns and neurological responses, we replace fear with clarity. We train for a settled mind, ensuring the horse remains a confident partner under pressure.

We honor the timeless principles of classical horsemanship, where finesse meets discipline. This pillar focuses on the refinement of aids and the cultivation of lightness and harmony, transforming the horse from a simple mount into a sophisticated partner.
